While the original Dead Island kickstarted a push into first-person zombie games, Dying Light is not resting on its laurels.

Finally, the new Viral Rush event, which runs from April 20 to May 4, will make Virals appear more frequently and challenge the community to kill a certain number to gain rewards.ĭying Light 2’s Gut Feeling update drops at the perfect time to compete with Dead Island 2. New weapon blueprints will be found around the map that can be used to craft new weapons, and the gear transmog allows players to customize their look without skimping out on defense stats or bonuses - including with two new outfits.
Gut Feeling’s main change is the improved physics system that seems to directly compete with Dead Island 2’s FLESH System, allowing players to dismember zombie limbs and see a ton of blood in the process. On top of this, the Dying Light 2 roadmap mentions updates to the parkour system, and that nighttime adventures will be released over the next few months to continue to keep fans entertained. Gut Feeling not only improves the game's dismemberment system to give each kill a lot more blood, but also improves crafting and gives players a new event to sink into. Dying Light 2 has brought in everything great about the first game while improving nearly every aspect, including parkour, combat, and narrative.
